Use specially formulated cleansers
Breakouts on your back are similar with the ones on your face. To reduce breakouts and kill bacteria, consider switching to cleansing wash that contains benzoyl peroxide. When used regularly, this powerful acne-fighting ingredient can help reduce infection and improve the appearance of lesions.
Shower right after workout
Regular exercise provides several health benefits. However, sweat can irritate the skin and cause clogged pores on your back, which can cause acne.
Just like our face, our back has more sebaceous glands. That means, it produces more oil than other parts of the body. When excess sebum combines with dead skin cells and bacteria, it can lead to acne.
That’s why it’s important to change out of your sweaty gym clothes and shower right after working out.
Wear breathable clothes
As mentioned above, sweat can cause acne. Tight-fitting clothes can also clog pores and bad breakouts. They prevent the skin from breathing as well as trap oil and moisture.
If you struggle with bacne, we highly recommend that you wear breathable cotton clothing, especially when working out.
Pores on the back and shoulders are much larger than that of your face, making them more prone to acne. To combat tenacious bacne, we recommend exfoliating regularly to help slough off dead skin cells and leave your pores clear and clean.
Although the skin on our back is tougher than our face, it is still best to limit the use of body scrubs to once to twice a week.
