WHAT IS IT?
Dermaplaning, also known as leveling the skin, or blading, is a manual exfoliation that uses a scalpel to gently scrape away the top layer of problem skin as well as peach fuzz.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The esthetician holds the scalpel against taut skin at a 45-degree angle, and strokes the face in a manner similar to shaving. This removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells, leaving the skin smooth and supple. There is no downtime, and you can resume your normal activities after your appointment.
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE?
Dermaplaning is the perfect procedure for patients who need skin exfoliation and/or who have peach fuzz on their face. Removing dead, dry skin and peach fuzz leaves the skin looking and feeling healthier. It's great for those with sensitive skin, as well as those with facial hair which doesn't respond well to laser hair removal. It is also great for priming the skin for a chemical peel. Plus, you won't believe how incredibly smoothly your make-up will go on after!
HOW OFTEN DO YOU RECOMMEND A SESSION?
For optimum results, we recommend doing this procedure about once a month to coincide with a normal skin cycle.
